How to become a morning person

Hello!

I am not a morning person. I am probably the worst at being a morning person.
You might be wondering how a '' not morning person '' can give you any tips on this topic. well, throughout the years I've been learning a few things that have really helped me be happier in the mornings, so i thought i'd share them with everyone else who struggles with mornings just as much as i do!

Waking up to natural light: I haven't been doing this for a very long time yet, but i wish i had realised how amazing this is sooner. I've noticed the biggest difference since i started leaving my blinds open and letting natural light get into my room. I don't wake up to a boring dark room, instead i see the blue sky when i open my eyes and honestly that just makes me very happy.

Get everything done the night before: I love sleeping, and we all know that being a student means you don't get as much sleep as you would want to. So to make up for this i like to do as many things as i can the night before, like choose my outfit, get my bag ready for class... doing this i get little more sleep in the mornings.

Be excited about something: Getting up is a lot harder if you know that you have to go to class, study, or do something you don't enjoy. So being excited about something, even if it is a little thing like something tasty i am going to have for breakfast or a new lipstick i'm going to try, makes me want to get up and do it, instead of staying in bed and then end up running late.

Have a relaxed morning routine: There's nothing i hate more than rushing in the morning, it puts me in a very bad mood. I like to take my time and do things calmly in the morning, which is a struggle as i love having my beauty sleep too ( which is very much needed ). So as i mentioned before, getting everything done before bed is the best thing to do, it saves so much time in the morning, which you can use to sleep a little more or to perfect that winged eyeliner ( we all know how difficult it is to make both eyes look the same! )

Alarm: Who doesn't hate that annoying noise that wakes you up every moring,?, that beep beep beep, it's terrible. Wouldn't it be better to wake up to your favourite song playing? Listening to my favourite song makes me happy, so waking up to makes me not hate mornings too much aha
Yes, this does have a downside to it, you could end up hating your favourite song, but oh well.. We all get tired of our favourite songs eventually, don't we?

What is something you do every morning that makes you happy ?

  4. I love all of these tips, especially the one about waking up to natural lighting I bet that makes you feel so positive :) I've been trying hard to become a morning person too as I always find I'm so much more productive first thing in the morning.

  5. Natural lighting is SUCH a winner in the summer, I wake up easily at like 6:30 every day (admittedly I’m a proper granny and am normally in bed & fast asleep by 10pm though #NoRegrets). Another thing I’d suggest is the app ‘Sleep Cycle’ which wakes you up at your lightest sleep within a 30 minute period. In the winter when it’s dark in the mornings and I don’t naturally wake up with the sun, it really does wake me up gently! Nothing worse than a harsh beeping sound at 7am!

    1. It really is, isn't it?!
I've tried that app and quite liked it, I'm not too sure why I uninstalled it though :/ but that beeping sound at 7am is the worst thing ever!

  6. I'll have to try leaving my blinds open, never thought to give that a go! I set four, FOUR, alarms every morning to help me get up. I find the first one nudges me out of sleep and the next couple help me to keep track of time and not fall asleep again!

I've recently started leaving my blinds open too and it definitely works! And waking up to a song instead of a noise definitely works too!
